Project Summary |
The workshop aims to address the importance of biotechnology application in fisheries and the aquaculture sectors, emphasizing its contribution to food security and to the development of APEC economies. Currently, the use of biotechnology in aquaculture is limited compared to its application in livestock and agriculture, particularly in developing economies, and is even more in fisheries management, so it offers an important field to be developed. The workshop will follow a conference format and is structured into two parts, each comprising two panels. Each panel will feature three presentations followed by a questions and answers session. Each panel lasts 20 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes for Q&A. | The workshop is scheduled for August 13, 2024, in Trujillo, Peru, in the framework of the APEC Food Security Ministerial Meeting (FSMM) and related meetings. The audience includes delegates from the 21 APEC economies attending the FSMM.
