Project Summary |
Agri-food systems in the APEC region confront a range of challenges, including food insecurity, malnutrition, and climate change. The emergency phase of the pandemic has passed, but APEC economies still have various difficulties in agri-food systems such as food price inflation, digital divide and inequality. To revitalize every stage of the agri-food supply chain, it is evident that cooperative and urgent actions are highly required. | Recognizing the importance of a more constructive relationship among policymakers, businesses, academia and research institutions to tackle these challenges, this project will engage all relevant stakeholders in the policy dialogue on digitalization and innovation. It will share policy cases that have successfully responded to the challenges surrounding the APEC agri-food systems such as climate change and food insecurity through digitalization and innovation. All participants will also explore exemplary cases of the public and private sector and public-private partnerships on improving the digital capacity of various stakeholders across the entire agri-food supply chain.
