According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), 80% of solid marine debris originates from land and mostly degrades slowly after entering the ocean, posing complex and multifaceted challenges to the economy, the environment, and human health. Therefore, source management, such as prevention, reduction and control, is the key solution to reduce leakage of debris into the ocean. This proposal seeks to invite all APEC economies to join in discussions from technology, community and cross-region aspects. The detail of the planning is as follows: 1. Three Aspects: Starting from the local community, the project will help shape the local marine waste circulation chain, establish a marine waste technology matchmaking platform, connect the supply and demand sides of the technologies, and allow economies to cooperate with each other across regions. 2.
