Project Summary

The United States will organize and host a one-day virtual workshop on treatment of, and approaches to, illicit streaming under domestic laws or regulations, including with respect to illicit streaming devices (ISDs), with discussion on enforcement options in the APEC region.  It is the view of the sponsors that such a workshop will inform future IPEG work, including possible adoption of a best practices document or building capacity of relevant officials.

The virtual workshop would have speakers discuss their domestic legal framework and identify effective approaches and strategies that law enforcement and regulatory agencies could take against illicit streaming.

The United States and its co-sponsors believe enforcement against illicit streaming, including against ISDs, is timely and a pressing concern for content creators, owners, right holders, and law enforcement.
