| Project Summary | Laboratory capacity building is critically important to fulfilling the needs of FSCF and its PTIN for improving technical competence of food safety management in APEC region. However, upon feedback and results collected from the previous projects, various levels of testing technologies, laboratory management and food safety standards implementation can be easily identified in APEC region. This project aims to assist APEC economies continue to improving food safety, public health, and competitiveness of businesses, including SMEs, by building laboratory capacity, which complies with SCSC and its FSCF’s priorities. This project will hold a food microbiology proficiency testing scheme in which 80-100 laboratories from APEC economies will be invited to participate. The PT scheme will help participants assess their performances of testing and promote implement and understand of international technical standards, laboratory management and assess the need of laboratory capacity building. |
