Project Summary

The project aims to develop the next iteration of the APEC Cervical Cancer Roadmap, as the current roadmap for 2021 to 2025 expires this year. Over the past ten years, member economies have made significant strides in promoting measures to prevent and control cervical cancer. While some economies have focused on strengthening their domestic strategies, others have developed comprehensive elimination plans using a whole-of-government and multi-sectoral approach. APEC dialogues over the past decade have actively facilitated knowledge sharing and the dissemination of best practices, and this will continue.

As we develop the next iteration, it is crucial for economies to reflect on their experiences and share their achievements and challenges in implementing the current roadmap. Key topics of interest that have emerged from recent APEC policy dialogues include effective strategies, necessary policy changes, key performance indicators, and areas for research and innovation. The session will also address needs for data and information systems, long-term sustainability, and building resilient healthcare systems to prioritize cervical cancer elimination.

The goal is to gather insights and priorities from member economies and, through these consultations, shape and develop the next roadmap to ensure continued progress towards the 2030 WHO targets.
