Project Summary

Prophylactic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) can provide protection against infectious diseases, including Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), yet are not widely utilized. This project aims to address this gap through a case study of prophylactic mAbs for RSV in infants, focusing on Chile’s successful integration into its immunization program. The project involves two hybrid multistakeholder learning sessions. The first, in September 2024, will gather health officials, policymakers, experts, and industry representatives to discuss innovative immunization pathways, healthcare system readiness, regulatory capabilities, and challenges faced by economies. The second session, held around the time of the APEC SOM1 HWG meetings in Korea (2025), will reinforce key points. A summary paper with key takeaways, best practices, and recommendations will be prepared following the sessions.
