Project Summary

In 2023, the APEC published the report ‘Economic Impact of Adopting Digital Trade Rules: Evidence from APEC Member Economies’ highlighting the substantial economic impact of digital trade, including e-commerce[1], rules.

To continue capacity building efforts to grow digital trade in the APEC region, this project will seek to hold an in-person workshop bringing together digital trade negotiators. The workshop will focus on better equipping negotiators for the future of these digital trade rule negotiations and on how to fully realise the economic benefits of digital trade.

The workshop will be held in mid-2024.

[1] Note that digital trade will be assumed to include e-commerce.
