Project Summary

Within the APEC economies, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) have been the backbone of economic growth and employment. However, they have been also one of the most vulnerable to supply chain disruptions, particularly due to COVID-19.
This one-day hybrid forum is to address the critical challenges faced by MSMEs in the context of supply chain disruptions. First, it will seek to evaluate the current challenges that MSMEs within the APEC region. Second, the forum will serve as a knowledge-sharing platform, allowing stakeholders from various APEC economies to exchange best practices in addressing supply chain disruptions. Third, the project intends to suggest policy recommendations, particularly including the use of digital tools, tailored to the needs of MSMEs in the APEC region.
This forum emphasizes private-public collaboration, involving speakers, discussants, and participants from both sectors. It will be held in Seoul, Korea, mid-October (October 13). The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable and lasting impact, enhancing the resilience of MSMEs.
