The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic caused an unprecedented learning loss around the world. Developing economies are more vulnerable to the virus. School leadership is essential to improve quality of education and learning outcome students (OECD, 2008). Enhanced digital and inclusive leadership would catalyze for recovering from the impact of the pandemic.
APEC School Leadership Program (ASLP) is a blended training program targeting school leaders and principals-to-be in the APEC region. A 2-month-long online pre-program encourages participating leaders to become familiarized with using digital technologies. The 5-day-long onsite training which will be held in Seoul, Korea, in October 2021, will focus on specialized lectures, best practices sharing, collaborative studies, and field trip with emphasis on women’s roles and the significance of female leadership in organizational innovation.
An APEC-wide ASLP Alumni network will be established to enable continuous knowledge exchange on possible collective actions to combat global crisis, even after the program. Best practices of school innovation in response to COVID-19 and outputs of collaborative studies are to be shared within the APEC region, in a form of newsletter, and will be available online.
