| Enhancing trade in environmental and environmentally related services can bring economic benefits to the APEC region, while also preventing, protecting against and remedying environmental degradation. One way to support increased trade in these services is through the liberalisation that economies agree through FTA and RTA negotiations. Developing schedules of services commitments can pose technical challenges – particularly for services as complex as environmental and environmentally related services, some of which may have environmentally beneficial as well as potentially environmentally harmful applications (‘dual uses’). |
