Project Summary

Nowadays, the governments put the emphasis on green growth and strive to strike a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation. In turn, MSMEs are affected by such green growth strategy, both on the negative and positive sides. The companies need to seek optimal profit subject to environmental concerns. Questions that lie ahead are how to modernize and transform current industries into future ones that are “greener” and more climate-friendly.

This project aims to provide a one-day workshop as a platform for addressing on the challenges and possibilities of industries to transform into new players with sustainable practices as their core values. The workshop will be in a hybrid format taking place in Bangkok, Thailand in June 2022. The program will cover four sessions on 1) Setting up ecosystem for achieving green growth strategy, 2) Economy experiences - sharing experiences on “greening” industrial policies 3) Sectoral focus on case studies - Sharing experiences on “greening” aviation, logistics industries and medical device industries and 4) Multiple perspectives of APEC stakeholders on the issue of facilitating MSMEs into Sustainable Players for the Economic Recovery.
The aim is to bring together panelists to share in their views and experiences on adaptive and transformative approaches for striving toward environmentally sustainable goals.
