Project Summary

APEC is facing the challenges of dynamic environment on economic development over natural disaster, climate extreme and pandemic spreading. The immediate common needs are to better utilising the innovations on science and technology for policy and decision making on real-time or near real-time information sharing to fulfill sustainability. ACTS encouraged to synergised the investment and resources in science, technology and innovation in the APEC region and continue to promote “APEC Climate Resilient City/Community (ARC)” initiative for capacity building on emergency preparedness amidst COVID-19.  In this context, the interoperability for a whole-of-society approach is critical for networking under APEC.  The expert/policy dialogue will be host to discuss on how to leverage the frontier smart technology and innovation on strengthening disaster risk management for a resilient, inclusive, balanced and sustainable APEC to kickoff 2022 ACTS annual meeting.  For ensuring the synergy, this project will invite the stakeholders through public private partnership under APEC with gender-balanced perspectives.
