Project Summary

Artificial intelligence (AI) is now everywhere. Recently, the concept and its related technologies had been referred to in most businesses around the world as a competitive tool that all organizations should be apply. In addition, AI trend usage has also increased rapidly. As a result, skill in AI has been recognized as one of the highest demanded skills in today’s businesses. In our context, we will identify and provide formal definition of the following skills: core AI skills that are in-demand and are a crucial foundation to long-term development of related industries in APEC economies; and supporting skills, academic or otherwise. Furthermore, note that skillset(s) being considered here will also include understanding and practice related to information and individual privacy, as well as the ethics of AI development. We will also explore means on which the adopted standards may be used to enhance skill development in APEC economies.

This symposium aims to allow a space for representatives from APEC economies to discuss and exchange ideas on the proposed ICT Skill Standards for AI.
