A core focus of New Zealand’s Policy Priorities for APEC 2021 is on how member economies recover from the COVID-19 impact inclusively with resilient growth especially driven by digital innovation.
Chinese Taipei proposes an APEC regional workshop (hybrid or virtual) in November 2021 in Taipei to provide capacity building by sharing paradigms on how sustainable investment can enhance inclusive recovery through digital innovation, with a main focus on precision health, which critically relates to recovery. For example, ESG-qualified investments in virtual healthcare, which makes use of artificial intelligence technologies, can help develop smart hospitals to minimize the disruptions in health systems and economic activities, and achieve inclusive and resilient recovery.
The workshop aims to support the efforts of APEC economies to understand effective approaches and set up new models for sustainable investments contributing to inclusive recovery in the digital world. The achievements will be reported to APEC IEG to share with member economies and ensure benefits to the region.
