Project Summary

The pandemic of Covid-19 has huge impacts on global economies. Resuming the work and production safely to sustain the economies is the common challenge we are facing. Workplace safety management plays a key role in balancing the safety assurance and economic sustainability under the new normal. The project seeks to strengthen the workplace safety to address the challenge by gathering the APEC economies to share the best practices and knowledge in an effective manner. It plans four activities centering around “Workplace Safety Management in Work Resumption Under Covid-19”, including developing a targeted and widely applicable guidance, a case study of typical section, a short video recording China’s measures to tackle the issue, and holding a virtual workshop integrating the outcomes (Guidance, Case Study and video) to share and exchange experiences and solutions. Through the project, it is expected to help APEC economies balance safety and development by enhancing the capabilities of workplace safety management and disaster resilience, to further resume and boost economies. The project starts from February in 2021, is to end in March, 2022, and to be implemented through a combination of online and offline activities.
