Mental health has long been a global issue. With the onset of the global pandemic in 2020, many small business owners from across APEC economies are suffering from this problem. According to a recent global study of 2700 employees by
Harvard Business Review, 75% of people feel socially isolated, 67% report higher stress, 57% feel greater anxiety, and 53% say they feel emotionally exhausted. This project will provide a platform to experts and delegates from all APEC economies to collaborate and find potential solutions to alleviate small business owners’ mental health. The project will run in the form of workshop in which delegates and experts from APEC economies would collaborate and put forth their ideas and interventions aimed at finding potential solutions to the globally acknowledged problem of small business owners’ mental health. The workshop will be hosted in Wellington with participants from across APEC economies joining virtually. This project is scheduled to take place in the week of 10 – 14 August and expected to be attended by experts, policymakers and researchers.
