This project will map the evolving utilisation of telehealth solutions across APEC economies in the COVID-19 environment. Specifically, this project will consist of an APEC-wide study utilising case studies to highlight evolving policy changes enacted to date to empower telehealth solutions in the current COVID-19 environment, while preserving patient privacy and access to in-person care.
The objective of this study is to identify and share economies; best practices of policies that encourage an increase in the utilisation of telehealth solutions across APEC economies in the current pandemic environment without jeopardising patient privacy and access to in-person care, when desired.
The report will be shared within APEC to inform economies of the current use and benefits of telehealth solutions and will serve as the basis for follow-up work to enable greater use of telehealth solutions in the region. Furthermore, this project will directly coordinate with APEC LSIF to encourage cross-fora collaboration, as well as engagement from government, industry and academia.
