This project will develop and promote a “Common ICT Skills Recognition Framework” within the Asia-Pacific Region. This substantially aligns with Objective 3.3 of the APEC TELWG Strategic Action Plan 2016 to 2020.
The outcome of the project will be an overall framework which maps existing ICT skills frameworks in use across the region. There is similarity with the SFIA/e-CF comparison report from the EU.
The project will be developed in partnership with Member Economies and stakeholder partners throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Relevant stakeholders include SEARCC, a federation of associations of ICT professionals within the region, which will provide in-kind expert resources. This involvement of APEC economies and other economies in the Asia-Pacific region, is particularly relevant to Objective 5.2 which addresses collaboration with groups external to APEC, to minimise duplication. It also encompasses action a) for this objective, which refers to gathering ICT leaders from among stakeholders for knowledge sharing.
