Project Summary

With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) will coordinate a one-day add-on workshop on March 19, 2019 in Hong Kong, China in advance of the joint EGNRET/EGEE&C meeting. This workshop will engage the EGNRET and EGEE&C to highlight the critical role of energy regulation in driving progress toward meeting renewable energy and energy efficiency goals in APEC member economies and throughout the region as a whole. Electricity utility regulators from the U.S. (and potentially from other economies) will share international best practices and lessons learned from their states’ (or economies’) experiences utilizing various regulatory approaches and tools. NARUC will provide a workshop summary to APEC following the event, and will liaise with the U.S. EWG representative to explore other potential opportunities for collaboration.
