Project Summary

In response to the Beijing Declaration of the Third APEC Ministerial Meeting on Food Security to “boost agricultural productivity and food production and availability based on sustainable development, innovation, science and technology and an enabling economic environment”, this workshop aims for joint efforts in the cooperation on scientific and technology innovation for greater added value in food production, higher productivity and better quality. Priority will be given to designs that integrate higher yield and environment-friendliness. The goal is to build advanced food production systems that feature large-scale mechanization, standardized IT application and precise practice in every APEC economy, especially the developing members. After the workshop, delegates will visit successful agricultural technology demonstration or extension bases. Output of the workshop is that through cooperation and expertise exchange, each member economy can learn how establish the model with key elements to achieve the intended purposes. The workshop will be held in September 13-14, 2018 in Beijing.
