Project Summary

Infectious disease outbreak is considered as a health security issue in APEC economies. In Asian pacific region, there are field epidemiologists for the control and prevention of infectious disease outbreak. However, there is a limited effort to review their status and improve their training program.

The goal of this project is for reviewing and improving the workforce of field epidemiologist for infectious disease of APEC economies in Asian Pacific region. The project will be initiated from 1 September 2018 and finished till 1 September 2019 in the Republic of Korea and APEC economies.

The planned activities will be included reviewing the past and current status of field epidemiologist of APEC economies in Asian pacific region, and conducting a survey for improving training quality.

From this project, field epidemiologists in the APEC economies can make further arrangement of future collaborative work of their training program, and improve their field activities.
