To enhance entry of MSMEs including smallholders into local, domestic and international market is one of the key elements to increase their income and to foster rural development.
In this context, it is necessary to share the good practices by APEC member economies for strengthening the connectivity between rural area and urban area.
Japan will organise a half-day seminar at the margin of the Food Security Week in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, in the morning of 6th August 2018. Japan is considering to set the following topics:
- information on good practices and technologies to increase efficiency and production levels of MSMEs; and
- Identify capacities needed by MSMEs (eg stable production, quality, regulatory compliance) for market entry at various levels and examine potential measures for aiding market entry.
