Project Summary

At the 2013 APEC Leaders Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia on 7-8 Oct 2013, Leaders endorsed the “APEC Multi Year Plan on Infrastructure Development and Investment” (hereinafter referred to as “MYPIDI”) as Annex B of Leader’s Declaration with Annex A - APEC Framework on Connectivity.  The MYPIDI stipulates four workstreams on infrastructure development and investment (see 2. below) as practical guiding principles during the period from 2014 to 2016.  Based on the fact that the MYPIDI is one of the substantial efforts for strengthening connectivity and several economies expected an extension of the MYPIDI for another term, Japan is proposing a study on reviewing outcomes of the MYPIDI, through taking stock of various APEC projects on infrastructure development and investment implemented by economies for the past three years.  The final report will be expected to describe the outcomes and achievements of the MYPIDI, thereby contributing to give economies ideas of baseline for future discussions on promoting infrastructure development and investment.
