Project Summary

The food industry has identified non-tariff measures (NTMs) as one of the impediments to efficient agriculture and food trade in the Asia-Pacific region.

This proposal is for a one day Trade Policy Dialogue (TPD) where issues in relation to NTMs in the food sector could be explored further between policy makers and business.  The TPD would be held in the margins of CTI1 in Viet Nam under the auspices of CTI and open to all interested policy makers and ABAC/PPFS business representatives. A report reflecting the discussions of the TPD will be developed afterwards. Based on the report, CTI will decide whether to explore possible next steps on addressing NTMs in food trade.

Speakers would include government policy makers, academic experts, and business representatives from the food industry.
