The Oil and Gas Security Initiative (OGSI) is the succeeding project of the Oil and Gas Security Exercise (OGSE) to put forward an instruction made at the 11th APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting (EMM11) held in Beijing, China, on 2 September 2014. The OGSI has a broader coverage consisting of three (3) major pillars: Oil and Gas Security Exercise (OGSE), Oil and Gas Security Network (OGSN), and Oil and Gas Security Studies (OGSS).
The OGSE established “Oil and Gas Security Exercise Model Procedure (OGS-EMP)” as a guiding framework for APEC economies to conduct their respective supply emergency exercises. By using the OGS-EMP, the 2nd OGSE will be conducted. The OGSN will continuously release a bi-monthly newsletter letter and will hold the 2nd Oil and Gas Security Network Forum in Japan in March 2016. Meanwhile, the OGSS will also publish several studies/reports on the identified possible research themes.
