Project Summary

To boost youth employment and narrow education gap and skills gap in the APEC region and as a follow-up event to the TVET Forum hosted in Chinese Taipei in April 2014, this project aims to promote and demonstrate a series of strategically-designed industry-driven TVET programs that, through the collaboration and networking between academic institutions, private sector, and government organizations, cultivate an educated and skilled workforce that meets industry needs for APEC economies. This project also promotes human capital development, people-to-people/institutional connectivity, and SME development in the APEC region. Planned activities include setting up a bilingual website where related information will be regularly uploaded (commencing in June 2015) and organizing a workshop for sharing of best practices, as well as a three-day (September 22-24, 2015) visit to industry-driven TVET programs and the respective partner companies in Chinese Taipei to enable participants to gain deeper understanding of the programs and engage in closer interaction with the protagonists.
