Transportation infrastructure is what all cities are urgently required to develop. Without smart and economic public transportation system, traffic congestion hinders the city from better operation. The key factor for smart transportation is networklization of transportation infrastructure. The network which integrates all the measures, including railways, freeways, metros and public bike rentals provides efficiently the first and last-mile transfer services for a sound public transportation.
Committed to the clean, green and healthy transportation, Chinese Taipei spares no efforts to provide communities and individuals with opportunities to adopt a sustainable transportation lifestyle which will be eventually embedded in people’s daily behavior, and most importantly, to build up a well-connected and highly-interacted SME supply chain that supports the lifestyle.
To achieve the goal of sustainable development on green transportation, this project aims to clearly define the content of smart transportation followed by the selection of the best last mile solution, while the evaluation of the effectiveness will be conducted according to the selected solution. Chinese Taipei would also like to share our experience through holding 2 forums, focusing on how to deploy public bike solution embedded with SME’s capacity building program.
The outcome of the project will be focused on the policy recommendations which will be given according to:
1) methodology for last mile smart transportation;
2) priority setting for the solution selection; and
3) how to create the business opportunities for SME.
