Project Summary

Food security has remained an issue of high importance in APEC economies. Share APEC economies’ experience, strengthen coordination, learn better research and monitoring methods about food security and jointly respond to regional and global food security challenges will be effective implementations of the APEC Food Security Road Map Towards 2020.

The major objectives of the project is to promote communications among APEC economies’ food security researchers and experts, build interest on food security strategies, enhance research capacity and offer policy recommendations to improve food security. The training and workshop will identify existing methodologies, tools and best practices of food security researches.

The project will be conducted in China, starting from June 2015 and ending by Oct 2015. Outputs will include a food security experts’ database, a compendium of research papers, methodologies, tools, and best practices, a workshop report and more than 30 trained researchers.
