Project Summary

Consistent with APEC 2014 Rank 1 Funding Criteria, to promote regional economic integration via free and open trade, this project will host a 2-day workshop that will include interactive, facilitated, incident-based discussion aimed at developing the key elements of a cooperative regional approach to critical infrastructure security and resilience (CISR).  This workshop would define and test the key elements for coordinated regional CISR.  Establishing a basis for coordinating on CISR practices and policies will facilitate trade and travel, more securely, across the APEC region. An integrated approach will benefit APEC economies by reducing gaps or vulnerabilities that could interrupt trade and travel while facilitating future cooperation on CISR in support of continued regional growth and prosperity.  The workshop will be held in June 2014. The workshop would also establish a basis for continued capacity building on CISR through the sharing of expertise, lessons learned and best practices.
